# Aedify User Management System
A Spring Boot application for managing users with Firebase Authentication.
## Prerequisites
- Java 17 or higher
- Maven
- Firebase project with Authentication enabled
- Firebase Admin SDK service account JSON file
## Setup
1. **Clone the repository**
2. **Set up Firebase**
- Go to the [Firebase Console](https://console.firebase.google.com/)
- Create a new project or select an existing one
- Go to Project Settings > Service Accounts
- Click "Generate New Private Key" and download the JSON file
- Rename the file to `firebase-service-account.json` and place it in the `src/main/resources` directory
3. **Configure the application**
- Update `src/main/resources/application.properties` if you need to change any default settings
## Running the Application
```bash
# Build the application
mvn clean install
# Run the application
mvn spring-boot:run
```
The application will start on `http://localhost:8080`
## API Endpoints
### User Management
- `POST /api/users` - Create a new user
- `GET /api/users/{uid}` - Get a user by ID
- `GET /api/users` - Get all users
- `PUT /api/users/{uid}` - Update a user
- `DELETE /api/users/{uid}` - Delete a user

## Security
- The application uses Firebase Authentication for user management
- User roles are stored as custom claims in Firebase Authentication
- Make sure to secure your Firebase Admin SDK credentials
## Error Handling
The application includes global exception handling with appropriate HTTP status codes and error messages.
## Logging
Logging is configured in `application.properties`. By default, the application logs to the console with INFO level for the root logger and DEBUG level for the application packages.
